“Stree 2 (transl. Woman 2) is an upcoming Hindi-language comedy horror film directed by Amar Kaushik, with Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande producing under the Maddock Films and Jio Studios banners. A sequel to the 2018 film Stree, it marks the fifth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, along with Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. Stree 2 is set to be released in theaters on August 15, 2024.”

Production
Development
In October 2018, director Amar Kaushik revealed plans for a sequel to Stree. Actor Rajkummar Rao confirmed the sequel’s development in February 2022. By March 2023, the project had entered the pre-production stage, with filming scheduled to begin in July 2023. In April 2023, the filmmakers announced a release date of August 30, 2024. The cast includes Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, all reprising their roles from the original film.
The film’s music is composed by Sachin–Jigar, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the background score by Justin Varghese. The first single, titled “Aaj Ki Raat,” was released on July 24, 2024, followed by the second single, “Aayi Nai,” on August 1, 2024.
